 | 6th Jul 2008 | North East Industrial Brigades, Various. (10 images)
This collection illustrates some of the various industrial brigades visited when I was a member of the Fire Brigade society in the late 90's, although there are also one or two rally shots as well.
Most are Teesside subjects, but there are some from elsewhere in the North East, hence the title.

 | 3rd May 2008 | Newcastle upon Tyne Airport Fire Service. (7 images)
Newcastle's Airport is the principal Airport in the North East, as such it has an impressive Fire Service.
I only got to see this establishment once whilst I was a member of the Fire Brigade Society between 1996 - 2000.
I always thought that the pointy nosed machines looked very futuristic!

 | 3rd May 2008 | NE Private Ambulance Services, and others. (11 images)
There are several private ambulance and other rescue vehicles in the North East.
I photographed several of these where I was able to, and these can be seen here.

 | 3rd May 2008 | Cleveland Ambulance (9 images)
Cleveland Ambulance was formed in 1974 with the creation of the then new Cleveland County. In the early days, the Bedford/ Lomas combination was pretty much the standard fare, to be replaced by Bedford CF's with Hanlon bodywork in the 80's.
Alas! I became interested in Cleveland's Ambulances much too late to have been be able to photograph any of the older stuff. The pictures that appear here, are all that I have,
and were taken around 1996/7, at either Stockton or Redcar Ambulance Stations.

 | 26th Apr 2008 | The Tyne Tunnel. (11 images)
The Tyne Tunnel is situated on one of the North East's primary routes - the A19. It crosses the River Tyne between Jarrow on the South, and Howdon on the North. I worked here between 1992, and 2000.
Not long after I started, I got the chance to photograph the Landrover Escort vehicles, and later on their replacements, the Landrover Discoverys.
These Landrovers are licenced as Fire Appliances, which is why they carried blue lights, they are built by Carmichael, and these ones in this selection of pictures are the last of a long line of Landrovers.
